Love Cambridge Awards 2011

Love Cambridge are once again running an awards ceremony in September 2011 and we need your help for one of the awards.

As part of the Love Cambridge Awards, we would like to honour those people that provide outstanding service in the role they do.  This could vary from amazing service in a shop, on a bus, whilst visiting one of our many museums or attractions or outstanding service received in a café or restaurant – anything that sticks out as above and beyond your expectations we want to hear about it.

The Love Cambridge Awards will be presented on 15th September and alongside our Best Ambassador Award we are also working in partnership with Skillsmart Retail and Emerald Frog Marketing to conduct a series of mystery shops to look for the overall winners for the Best Customer Experience for both the Independent & National Businesses.

Love Cambridge will also be awarding those businesses who can demonstrate an active Contribution to Reducing the City’s Carbon Footprint and also in partnership with Cambridge City Council we will be hosting The Way to Be Awards which looks to award those businesses and individuals that go the extra mile to help people with disabilities.

Love Cambridge Awards 2010

Love Cambridge held the first Awards Ceremony on Tuesday 14th September at the Gonville Hotel, Cambridge, to recognise the hard work of businesses that have signed up to the Love Cambridge Charter. The awards were open to all businesses that have signed up to the Love Cambridge Charter and were presented at the first Love Cambridge AGM.

The turnout for the event was high, with over 80 people attending.

This year we looked at rewarding businesses that lead the way in providing great customer service and who excel at promoting their city. All business who signed up to the Charter were eligible to win an award, which was judged with the help of our sponsor - partner marketing agency Emerald Frog Marketing through a mystery shop. The mystery shops were conducted throughout August.

The awards were presented by the Right Worshipful Mayor of the City of Cambridge, Councillor Sheila Stuart in the categories of ‘Best Overall Customer Service’ and ‘Best Ambassador for Cambridge’.

Feedback from the mystery shop for Bellanapoli Café was “Extremely good atmosphere with fun, joking staff going the extra mile and helping our shopper carry items to their table”. The runner-up was the Christian Science Reading Room, also in Regent Street who received a certificate.
