Campaign for local maternity hospital launched with help of John Lewis Cambridge

ACT, the charity for Addenbrooke’s and the Rosie hospitals, has joined forces with John Lewis Cambridge to launch a fundraising initiative for the extension of the Rosie Hospital which provides, maternity, neonatal and women’s services to families in the East of England.

ACT is hoping to raise £500,000 with help from the local community, which will go towards its £7 million fundraising target. The money will support the cost of the Rosie’s 6,000 square metre extension, which will feature both clinical and non-clinical areas and provide medical care in a ‘home-from-home’ environment wherever possible.

Inspired by John Lewis, ACT has drawn up its own list of desired products, so people can see how their donation might be spent.

Robert Hallam, managing director at John Lewis Cambridge, said: “We are delighted that we could help ACT with this essential fundraising campaign by offering our help and advice - knowing that your money could go towards a blanket or nursing chair for the family rooms gives a very real sense of how your money can make a difference.

“As well as offering support and advice to ACT, our home design advisors will be on hand to help shape the final look of the hospital, so it really is a team effort from people across the business at John Lewis.”

“People can help out by clicking here  or by visiting the John Lewis Cambridge website.”

£10 could buy play equipment for children visiting family and new siblings, £100 could buy a table and chairs for a clinical staff rest area, and £500 could buy a sofa for the birth centre to keep families comfortable whilst they await new arrivals.

For more information about the Rosie Campaign and how you can help, please click here or visit the John Lewis website here
or call the ACT office on 01223 217757.
