Love Cambridge Community Partnership Fund -
The Big Switch On

Love Cambridge are inviting businesses and organisations across Cambridge to form a community consortium to help keep Christmas alive in the city of Cambridge.

The Big Switch On Event is a free event to switch on the festive lights in and around the city centre but there is a considerable cost associated with this. It is attended by thousands of visitors and residents every year and we need your help to ensure it continues to benefit the local community.

With four stages across the city centre with entertainment and performances from local community groups, schools and local musicians the day plays a big part in launching the festive season.

The Big Switch On itself takes place in front of the Market Square to a crowd of thousands all waiting in anticipation of which ‘star’ is going to flick that switch!

The 2011 Big Switch On is taking place on Sunday 20th November.  Entertainment starts at midday with the Switch On itself taking place at 17:00

For a more detailed document outlining the partner benefits, please contact Becky Burrell on 01223 457198 or email becky.burrell@love-cambridge.co.uk

Hotel Felix
Hotel Felix has been leading the way on the Cambridge hotel and restaurant scene for the past eight years. Graffiti restaurant has a well deserved reputation as a dining destination and Hotel Felix itself is proud to be known as Cambridge’s first independent, boutique hotel.

The hotel has been constantly developing and changing over the past eight years but May 2011 heralds a rather significant change in the shape of a new Orangery being added to the Victorian mansion which houses the main hotel.

The Orangery has been designed to take advantage of the fantastic natural positioning of Hotel Felix. Overlooking landscaped gardens it leads out onto the beautiful south facing terrace which is ideal for summer drinks, lunch, afternoon tea and BBQs.

Cambridge city centre is such a hive of activity that it can sometimes be difficult to escape the hustle and bustle and sit back and relax in more tranquil surrounds. The Orangery and terrace at Hotel Felix will offer an opportunity to do just that. Plenty of free parking and easy access from both the city centre and surrounding villages make Hotel Felix the ideal venue for a family gathering, a lunch date with friends, a business dinner or a celebratory meal. The new Orangery will add to the chic yet sophisticated feel of the venue.

Opening in early May, when days are brighter and evenings longer yet still there’s a nip in the air; there’s no excuse not to venture out from winter’s hibernation and meet up with old friends, family or colleagues.  When the sun gets hotter, air conditioning steps in to cool things down.

Put a date in the diary to drop in - during the month of May Hotel Felix is offering a complimentary homemade brownie with every coffee or tea on presentation of this article.

To book afternoon tea, lunch, dinner or other event please call Hotel Felix on 01223 277977.
