Whizz-kidz

Imagine a childhood where you can’t play with your friends and need others to push you around, where you lack the confidence to join in and you don’t have the future choices of your peers. This is the experience of thousands of disabled children around the UK; children for whom their childhoods are passing them by.

Whizz-Kidz’s aim is to ensure that every disabled child has an opportunity to be something special…a kid. They provide essential mobility equipment – powered, manual and recreational equipment - so young disabled people can lead fun and active lives. They also run additional support services such as wheelchair skills training which teaches disabled children how to get the most of out their wheelchair and be safe when out and about, plus life skills training such as work experience placements, to help our beneficiaries make the difficult transition from childhood to adulthood.

They also offer disabled children the most important thing of all: the independence to be themselves and to lead the life they have chosen. They would not be able to do this without the generosity of wonderful supporters. The impact of the contributions raised through the Sparkle & Shine Ball will make a huge difference to the children and families who they support in the future.
